Gospel Reflections by Deacon Tom

Twenty-Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time

Who among you would say to your servant who has just come in from plowing or tending sheep in the field, ‘Come here immediately and take your place at table’? Luke 17:7

With a world full of drugs and lies, we find it hard to follow Christ who tells us if our brother sins we are to rebuke him and if he repents we are to forgive him, no matter how often the cycle repeats. Just a small amount of faith can accomplish what is humanly impossible. Is our faith not genuine? Why do the lies continue and the division grow? We must focus on our duty to obey Jesus and go to Mass asking for stronger faith that will give us unity and love. We must remember we are only God’s children; God is the Almighty and will bring us into his Kingdom!
